Latin American regulations on data protection seek to reach the international parameters that the European regulation has established in recent years. Among these countries that enjoy prominence in the region is Brazil, considered one of the pioneers in the regulation and creation of mechanisms that guarantee effective protection of personal data. To this end, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law was also created, which addresses issues covered by the GDPR, while maintaining certain differences in terms of sanctions and other matters.
