On 30 December 2020, after seven years of negotiations, an investment agreement between the European Union and China was concluded, called the Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI). The CAI is a political agreement that seeks to establish the most favourable conditions for investors on both sides, prioritising fair conditions for competition.
